Ericka L. Adler

Legal Experience
Ericka L. Adler is a partner with the firm of Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP and focuses her practice in the area of regulatory and transactional health care. Ms. Adler represents health care providers in the areas of HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse, mergers and acquisitions, practice sales and purchase, managed care issues, contracts, corporate organization matters, employment law, reimbursement and patient care issues. In the area of regulatory law, Ms. Adler has substantial experience in advising clients with respect to structuring investments and business ventures to comply with Medicare reimbursement rules, Stark II, the Anti-Kickback Statute as well as state self-referral laws and professional licensing statutes. Ms. Adler served as the Managing Editor of the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law and is the author of Managed Care and the Business of Insurance: When is a Provider Group Considered to be at Risk?, published in the Spring, 1997 issue of the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law. She has also recently authored chapters on Informed Consent and Malpractice Insurance for Illinois Jurisprudence as well as other legal practice articles. Ms. Adler regularly addresses providers and health care law attorneys on current regulatory and transactional health care issues and practical corporate issues impacting providers. She also lectures at continuing medical education (CME) seminars to physicians, hospitals and other providers.

Admissions Information
Ms. Adler has been admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois; she has also been admitted before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Bar Association and Other Memberships
Ms. Adler is a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations and the American Health Lawyers Association. Ms. Adler is a current Board Member of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys and serves on its Symposium Committee and Quarterly Lecture Committee and serves as Chairman of the Publications Committee. Ms. Adler also serves as a Benefits Partner for the Pro Bono Center for Disability and Elder Law in Chicago.

Educational Background
Ms. Adler received her law degree and Certificate in Health Law in 1996 and her LL.M. in Health Law in 1997 from DePaul University College of Law. She received her B.S. degree, magna cum laude, with highest distinction in Biopsychology, from Skidmore College in 1993.
