Marvin Kamensky

Legal Experience
Marvin Kamensky is the founder and senior partner of the law firm of Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP. Mr. Kamensky served with the Internal Revenue Service for six years and is the author of numerous federal tax and health care related articles and outlines for the Journal of Taxation, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Practising Law Institute, American Bar Association, Bureau of National Affairs and other specialized professional journals. He is co-author of Formation of General and Limited Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies in the State of Illinois, published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is also author of The Age of Reason For Qualified Plans presented to the Southern Federal Tax Institute, Recent Developments in Tax and Related Areas of Law Affecting Physicians published by the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys for presentation at the Association's twelfth annual health law symposium, and The Changing Health Care Environment: Tax, Corporate and Other Legal Business Issues Confronted by Primary Care Physician Groups in Formation and Expansion presented to the Willamette Federal Tax Conference. In addition, Mr. Kamensky is often quoted by professional magazines and the trade press on health care and federal income tax issues.

Mr. Kamensky has spoken to many organizations on federal income tax and health matters. These organizations include the Practising Law Institute, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Bureau of National Affairs, American Bar Association, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Old Dominion Tax Institute, Providence Medical Society, American Professional Practice Association, American Society of Pension Actuaries, Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys, the Chicago Medical Society and many others. Among his speaking engagements are programs presented to the Illinois Medical Group Management Association pertaining to formation of MSO's and the Tax Section of the American Bar Association on formation of integrated and partially integrated networks and pension coverage issues in affiliated and/or controlled group settings.

Mr. Kamensky has been actively involved in the formation of groups without walls and single specialty physician organizations.

He has also been an innovator in numerous medical practice areas, including mergers, acquisitions, sales of businesses, development of high tech medical ventures such as MRI facilities, surgery centers, specialty centers, lithotripsy ventures and preparation of specialized agreements for medical providers such as in-hospital based radiologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists and emergency departments. Mr. Kamensky is also recognized as an innovator in structuring intricate legal transactions, including new forms of organizations to more easily allow for expansion of medical groups.

Admissions Information
Mr. Kamensky has been admitted to practice before the Illinois and United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Tax Court.

Bar Association and Other Memberships
Mr. Kamensky is a member of the Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Committee and the Transactional and Business Healthcare Committee of the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Closely Held Businesses Committee and Employee Benefits Committee of the Section of Taxation of the American Bar Association. Mr. Kamensky was the Task Force Chair of the American Bar Association Committee on affiliated service groups and was also a former Subcommittee Chairman of the American Bar Association's Committee on Professional Corporations. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Kamensky is a member of the Legal Advisory Board of the Small Business Council of America. He is a member of The Group, an organization devoted to federal tax planning, and was the first Chairman and a Director of the organization. He was an editorial consultant to Medical Economics magazine, Professional Corporation & Pension Update and Pension Planning Review and was a member of the Advisory Board of Family Business Professional. Mr. Kamensky has been named a Leading Lawyer and is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Leading Lawyers Network.

Educational Background
Mr. Kamensky received his law degree from DePaul University in 1966. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois in 1961 and in the same year became a Certified Public Accountant.
