Michael G. Erens

Legal Experience
Michael G. Erens joined Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP in 1977 and became a Partner of the Firm that same year. Prior to joining Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP, Mr. Erens was a member of the litigation department of two major Chicago law firms and the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. Attorney. At Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP, Mr. Erens chairs the Litigation Department and concentrates his practice in physician-related matters including (1) Hospital medical staff matters, including peer review hearings and related matters; (2) Licensure matters before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation; (3) Medicare and Medicaid disputes, including termination of participation due to coding and quality of care issues; (4) Personal representation relating to potential excess verdicts in malpractice cases and insurance coverage; (5) Unauthorized practice of medicine matters; (6) Employment law matters relating to both employers and employees; (7) Contract disputes; (8) Restrictive Covenant matters; (9) Partnership and corporate disputes including deadlocks and breaches of fiduciary duty; (10) Pension disputes and litigation; and (11) Securities controversies. Mr. Erens has lectured groups of physicians, dentists and professional advisors on a variety of health care topics and was chosen by his peers in Illinois to become an Illinois Super Lawyer and a member of the Prestigious Leading Lawyers Network.

Admissions Information
Mr. Erens has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, the United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court.

Bar Association and Other Memberships
Mr. Erens has served as a member of the National Health Lawyers Association. In addition, he is a member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations, serving as a Litigation Section Member.

Educational Background
Mr. Erens received his J.D. degree from DePaul University in 1969. He received his undergraduate B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1966.
