Philip L. Pomerance

Legal Experience
Philip L. Pomerance is a Partner with the firm of Kamensky, Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP and focuses his practice in the representation of physicians and physician groups, home health care providers, senior living providers, health care management companies and other health care providers in matters of health care, corporate, not-for-profit and regulatory law. Mr. Pomerance's experience includes advising parties to mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare industry and providing counsel in the increasingly complex regulation of the business of health care. Mr. Pomerance practices in the area of health care fraud and abuse regulation and defense, and he also provides advice to lawyers and health care providers on ethical issues. Mr. Pomerance previously served as an executive officer of Medical Management of America, Inc., a publicly-held medical services company which owned several medical practices, ambulatory surgery centers and a 236-bed hospital in Chicago.

Mr. Pomerance is admitted to the State of Illinois; U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin; U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Bar Association and Other Memberships
In 2004 and again in 2005, Nightingale's Healthcare News named Mr. Pomerance one of the outstanding physician practice lawyers in the United States. His peers in the Illinois Bar have also selected him as a "Leading Lawyer" in Health Law and as an "Illinois Super Lawyer" for each of the past three years. Mr. Pomerance serves on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association (2003 - current). He is an adjunct professor in the Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and has served as ethics reporter for the ABA's Health Law Section.

Mr. Pomerance is a frequent author and lecturer on health law and ethics for these national health law associations. He also has written papers for and spoken before meetings of the American Association of Health Plans, the American Medical Association, the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association of America, and the Medical Group Management Association. He regularly lectures to more than 15 State and local Bar associations on health law and ethics topics, and he has appeared on television, radio and the Internet to discuss health care, ethics and health law topics. He was a member of the Oak Park, Illinois, Board of Health for eight years, and in 1995-1996 served as the Chairperson of the Board.
