Richard P. Sora

Legal Experience
Richard P. Sora had been Of Counsel to Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP for three years before joining the firm as a Partner in 2008. Mr. Sora's practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial and residential real estate law, contract law and litigation, business law, estate planning and probate. Mr. Sora brings over two decades of experience in negotiating and drafting real estate contracts, commercial leases, construction contracts and business purchase agreements. He has extensive experience closing real estate transactions involving a wide variety of properties including medical buildings, office buildings, industrial properties, vacant land, apartment buildings, single family homes and condominiums. He also has extensive trial experience, having litigated numerous business and contract related disputes in the Circuit Court of Cook County and surrounding counties. He had also served as an arbitrator for the Cook County Circuit Court for over seven years and has participated as a judge in the 2008 Moot Court Competition sponsored by the American Trial Lawyers Association. In addition to his work in the area of real estate law, Mr. Sora is active in the areas of business law, estate planning and probate and currently serves as general counsel to a number of Chicagoland businesses including medical practices, construction companies, manufacturers, restaurants, and consulting firms.

Admissions Information
Admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of the State of Illinois in 1986. Admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1988.

Bar Association and Other Memberships
Mr. Sora is a member of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He is a frequent writer and lecturer for the Bar Association, teaching other lawyers various aspects of the practice of real estate law. In 2003, he was recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a Leading Lawyer in the area of real estate law.

Educational Background
Mr. Sora received his Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 1983 and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University's School of Law in 1986.
