Sherwin R. Rubinstein
Legal Experience
Sherwin R. Rubinstein joined Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott, LLP in 1971 while in law school at DePaul University. He became an Associate in the Firm in 1973, a Partner in 1978, and a senior Partner in 1983. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer and a Managing Partner of the Firm and is also a member of its Executive Committee. Mr. Rubinstein concentrates his practice in the representation of health care providers and institutions in such matters as retirement and benefits planning, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, valuation and sale of professional practices, general corporate practice, IPA formations, HMO and hospital-based provider contracts, partnership formations, equity acquisitions, and the formation and general representation of management service organizations. He has lectured to groups of physicians, dentists, and other health care professionals as well as attorneys, accountants and insurance representatives on a variety of health care topics. He is a contributor to various trade publications and was chosen by his peers in Illinois to become an Illinois Super Lawyer and a member of the prestigious Leading Lawyers Network.
Admissions Information
Mr. Rubinstein has been admitted to practice before the Illinois and United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Tax Court.
Bar Association and Other Memberships
Mr. Rubinstein is a member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations. He has been an active member of the Employee Benefits and Corporation and Securities Law Committees of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations and was invited to serve on the Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association Corporation and Securities Law Committee. He has also been a member of the Section of Taxation of the American Bar Association and the National Health Lawyers Association and the Legal Advisory Board of the Small Business Council of America. Mr. Rubinstein is a member of a national organization devoted to federal tax planning with an emphasis on the representation of professional organizations. He was also on the Board of Editors of Health Care Law Monthly, a Matthew Bender publication.
Educational Background
Mr. Rubinstein received his J.D. degree from DePaul University in 1973. He received his B.A. in 1969 from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Mr. Rubinstein attended the Masters in Tax Law program at John Marshall law school.
