  • Plan and implement sophisticated retirement plan structures, taking into account affiliated service groups, management organization and/or leasing company rules.
  • Develop retirement plans to fit our clients' needs and budgets, including 401(k), age weighted, cross-tested and super integrated profit sharing plans, cash balance and other types of defined benefit pension plans, money purchase pension plans, target benefit plans and employee stock ownership plans.
  • Obtain Internal Revenue Service approval of individually designed plans and adoptions of our Firm's volume submitter retirement plans.
  • Develop non-qualified employee benefit programs.
  • Review and analyze distributions from plans to maximize retirement benefits and minimize taxes.
  • Represent clients in all phases of IRS and Department of Labor audits.
  • Assist plan administrators regarding plan maintenance.
  • Maintain plan qualification through use of various IRS programs, such as the Voluntary Compliance Program.
  • Represent clients in connection with delinquent Annual Reports (Form 5500) under the Delinquent Filers Voluntary Compliance Program.
  • Represent plan fiduciaries before the Department of Labor under the Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program.
  • Advise clients on full or partial plan terminations, obtain approval of plan terminations by the IRS and PBGC and prepare documentation for participant distribution and loans.
  • Develop welfare benefit plans, including cafeteria plans, medical expense reimbursement plans and voluntary employee beneficiary associations.
  • Litigate employee benefit claims and fiduciary liability issues, and protect plan assets from creditors.
  • Represent clients before the Department of Labor in connection with prohibited transaction exemption requests.
  • Represent clients before the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration in civil and criminal investigations of plan operations and service providers.
  • Assist plan administrators in the review of Domestic Relations Orders and processing of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders.
